How a pallet strapping machine works
A pallet strapping machine runs strap vertically or horizontally around an entire pallet load, tensions it and seals it. Strapping holds heavy and dense goods to the pallet far more firmly than film alone, so the load does not shift or tip in transport.
Vertical machines strap the load down to the pallet; horizontal machines strap around the load to hold layers together. Many lines combine both, and strapping is often used together with stretch wrapping.

How to choose a pallet strapping machine
- Load type. Bricks, tiles, metal, paper and timber need firm strap tension and usually PET strap.
- Vertical or horizontal. Decide whether the load needs tying to the pallet, holding together, or both.
- Pallets per hour. Sets whether a semi-automatic or a fully automatic inline machine is right.
- Strap material. PP strap for lighter loads; PET strap for heavy loads that need high tension.
